Rashmi is cautioned by Saroj to keep her mouth shut and focus on her and Nakul's marriage; if she continues to act arbitrarily, Saroj will call off the couple's nuptials. Rashmi storms off in rage. Sayuri queries whether he would have brought pancakes to the evening's awards ceremony. Yash is made fun of by Nakul, who claims he came to see Kusum. Yash and Kusum are shy. Yash acknowledges his good fortune in having them as in-laws.
The discussion carries on. Saroj commends Yash's family for welcoming Kusum despite being aware of her past. Yash becomes agitated and admits that he failed to tell his family about Kusum's past.
